My personal laptop: a HP ENVY

So I decided to wean myself off of Apple products when it comes to computers and laptops. Why? Because it’s just easier that way.

Working on a laptop running on Windows is just so much easier when you want to do what I want to do (i.e. working a lot more with the Microsoft stack). So running Bootcamp and Virtual Box just doesn’t cut it anymore.

And yes, my employers up till now always provided me with a laptop. But a) that might not always be the case and b) I rather like separating work stuff and personal stuff (I rather not install Netflix on my work laptop).

So what did I get? After browsing for I think almost an hour in at the local MediaMarkt (gasp! Yes I sometimes do buy things in a physical shop), I decided on the HP ENVY. Now I’m not gonna lie: I actually fell in love with the HP Spectre. Because it’s black and gold (my absolute favorite color combo, and the reference to James Bond. But the steep price increase just for the look wasn’t worth it. So the HP ENVY it is!

Verdict

After the rather clunky experience of running Windows on a partition on an iMac, experiencing Windows like this was fantastic. The speed, the fluidness, the vividness of the colors, the sensitivity of the touch screens. I’m very happy with my choice and I’m sure that I’ll throughoutly enjoy using this.

Should you buy it?

If you have the budget: yes! You will not regret it.
